Hamel 45 Gallon Drum Experiment - Mark 2 - Method of Adjusting Repelling Ring Height

To make life easier (and it already has) I wanted to make it so that I could easily adjust the repelling rings up and down. To do this I found suitable PVC tubes along with PVC parts that slide up and down PVC tubes (all from Home Depot though I had to modify them slightly). Here are some pictures. Note that I can also move the parts that attach to the ring horizontally as well, thereby allowing me to experiment with different ring diameters.

Ring taped into place using black tape.

Same view but with the black tape removed so that the mechanism is more visible.

Ring removed so more of mechanism is visible. Note the two screws. The roughly cut piece that juts out to the right is a small tube that can be moved in and out. It is this piece that the ring sits on. Moving it in and out allows me to try different ring diameters.

Front view.

Here I have remove the piece that can slide in and out.

Screwing in this screw fixes the piece that moves in and out rigidly in place.

This screw is what holds the T shaped piece rigidly at whatever height it is at.
