In the spring, summer and fall, I compost using my worm bin.

That gives me worm castings which I harvest to use as fertilizer in my food garden.

Then, when the temperatures get below freezing I switch to composting using my green bin which the city of Ottawa takes away for conversion to fertilizer for farmer's crops.
